Memorial Message:
I sat next to him so many years playing trumpet in band. In junior high we had private trumpet lessons together. In high school, we walked to the junior high each morning and froze together waiting for the high school bus. He was such a genius in biology class. I always envied his good looks. He was always so cool and had a delightful sense of humor.
His dad taught my Sunday school class at the Presbyterian Church. I'll never forget how proud his dad was when he confessed that his son had finally beat him at chess for the very first time. You couldn't have seen a prouder dad.

Robert and I grew up together. He lived down the street. We had so many classes together and when seated alphabetically he was usually the seat behind mine. We were in band together so many years. I remember how devastated I was when I heard about his death. How could this smart, talented, and witty person be gone? Writing a note to his parents is the hardest thing I have ever done. I still think about Robert and how tragic it is that such a loved person is gone. Those of us who knew you will never forget you Robert, and when we all meet up again there is going to be a heck of a band in heaven.
